1.      Define what a CAPTCHA is in your own words.

   A CAPTCHA is a code which only humans can do so that they do something we can do rather than a robot.   

2.      What is the purpose of websites using CAPTCHAS?

   The CAPTHCAS purpose is so than robots or computer programs cant hack or by extra tickets on websites like ticket master.

3.      List 5 websites you have been to that require a CAPTCHA to be used.

   The five websites are Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo, YouTube and Gmail.     

  

   4.      How are CAPTCHAS helping to digitalize books?
   They help digitize books because the scan the books so there are new words and they make them more common.

5.      Think of some examples that utilize many people, all over the world, working together on a single project.
   Some examples are like Wikipedia people all over the world contribute to it for know money they just wanted to do it. They help put information all over from different perspectives.

6.      Brainstorm how you think we could motivate individuals to contribute to massive online project for free. List at least 3 ways.
   We could offer them a prize or they could just have the satisfaction of helping someone.    

7.      Luis von Ahn said, “If we can put a man on the moon with 100,000(people working together), what can we do with 750,000,000 (people)?” Brainstorm 5 examples.
We could do a lot more things like put a man on mars and other planets, we could make or invent another language, create a new species of animal, help some of the issues in the world right now and ending world hunger.   

8.      What is DUOLINGO? How does it work?
   "It is free language education for the world" thats what the website says but in my own words I think it is a site wear you could learn many languages for free. It tests you on simple phrases first but they get difficult and difficult on the way. So basically it teaches you languages for free world wide.
